Little bits of scattered prettiness – and a source of wisdom, knowledge, youth? There is something mesmerising about fountains. Even kitsch ones. They are very popular throughout the world, and yet one wonders who thought of it first. Little cherub-like fat boys peeing… or fish or tigers or whatever throwing up. Why? Who thought of it? But – okay – we’re happy to enjoy it.
