Illuminate
23 November 2021

It’s the Illuminate Festival, from tonight to the weekend, at the Royal William Yard. According to the website, the Illuminate light festival “is a powerful immersive experience, offering audiences beautiful projection mapping; playful light art installations; joyous performances and myriad opportunities to engage, participate and make. With light art created by artists, technologists, designers, architects, performers and children alike.”

Apparently, in 2020, it was sadly cancelled as the world shut down for the damn Rona. This year, it will be fun to once again gather with the rest of the city to check out some shiny things.

I noticed, with the Christmas lights switch on, and the Fireworks Championship, and the Hatchling… one thing about this city, is that people show up.

When there’s bad news to jointly process, or good news to celebrate, we all come together and make one another count. Proud of the city. Proud to be home.
