Moses Malone

I saw this and thought there had to be a story behind this… and since I had no way of knowing, I made it up. Why would a plastic shell baby pool find itself on a river; if not for carrying a modern day traveller Moses away to safety? It had to be a baby, or contraband – the shell can’t take too much weight without sinking. Perhaps the river – a wild one and not a touristy one – forms part of a drug network. In all likelihood, it fell from the back of the truck… or got picked up from someone’s river facing back lawn as the water temporarily swelled – but who the hell can be satisfied with that kind of bland reality? Admit it, like me, you can see the little baby – Moses Malone – wrapped up in Roma blankets containing ancient spells and inscriptions, floating merrily down the Gentile Nile, towards a life of hardship and wonder…
