Walls. You love them. Don’t build walls, they say, it’s like there’s a wall between us, they say, walls don’t work… But I like the idea that walls mark where the boundaries are (a lot of folks don’t understand boundaries). I like the idea that walls organize, and keep the peace between different sections, different territories, different ideas. Church and State. Family boundaries. Civic consideration. Oh, I like walls just fine. Plus, some of em are really old and pretty.
