Royal William Yard
29 November 2021
From inside, trendy restaurants and offices. From the outside – a glimpse of what it used to be: the formidable docks of a naval power that stretched around the world. This is one of my favourite views of the Royal William Yard – seen from the sea. I tended to think about the division between land and sea as simple. The one is dry, the one wet. But there are so many facets of each, and the sea is not one place, but many little interesting corners and areas. Like the shoreline, there’s endless areas to explore.
