Something You Don’t See Every Day

The largest sailing vessel in the world. Instead of using fossil fuels, this baby slices through the water using flows and currents of mother nature’s air. A low tech, high science achievement. It came to visit and was quite the sight to behold – I watched it enter the sound and then later took this photo as it posed for my – and other – cameras. I am too dumb to do sailing myself. I also don’t trust nature to have wind when there should be wind. Plus, putting the sails up and manipulating them on the journey looks like work. For this reason, I like boats with engines. Something with a joystick, that I can switch on and steer without any regard to what the air is doing. But I do appreciate that some people are smarter, more skilled, and better sailors than me.
